Emiko Rainbow

Emiko Rainbow is a Japanese Caucasian American artist and illustrator from Minneapolis, Minnesota. She grew up as a creative little girl, always drawing, painting, and making up stories. Her earliest art memory was drawing disney characters and gluing them in a portfolio her grandma bought her. Imagine a 5 year old with an extensive art portfolio! In grade school, Emiko furthered her art education by taking extra art classes in the evening. Eventually she graduated from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design with a BFA in Illustration.

Her first internship at a Seasonal Decor company, strengthened her traditional and digital art skills, along with learning the retail market. Then, after 7 years as an inhouse product designer, she started her own creative freelance business, a dream of hers for many years.

Ever since commanding her creative business, she has created unique, colorful art and products that celebrate authenticity and diversity. As a mixed woman she uses her unique experiences and emotions to express art that embodies confidence, self love and humanity. Recently she published her first illustrated children's book, collaborated with the Minnesota Twins designing an exclusive Artist Series T-shirt.
